We believe that task-trained service animals are an immensely beneficial resource to individuals living with a disability. When carefully selected for the right health & temperament, dogs can be trained to perform a variety of tasks that help mitigate the challenges that come with living with a disability. Service dogs can be trained for a variety of different disabilities, as long as their tasks directly relate and improves their handler's condition.
Service Dog training is a long term commitment that goes beyond obedience training. Dogs must learn reliable obedience skills, specialized tasks to assist their handler, public access skills and work around unpredictable distractions in daily life. Tasks are personalized to each individual disability.
Only few dogs have the correct temperaments for service work. A successful service dog must be confident in new environments, and have the ability to remain calm in unpredictable situations. They should not react to their environment, and they should have a strong desire to work alongside their handler.
Our goal is to build reliable service dogs teams through ethical and effective training. We focus on creating a strong partnership between the dog and handler, while maintaining top quality standards of dog behavior. We aim for our service dogs to be reliable medical equipment, as well as beloved companions.
Private lessons include 1 on 1 sessions with you and your service dog prospect. These sessions cover anything service dog related, from task training to public access.
